How green is Anaheim University? Let us count the ways. First, it is committed and on pace to become the world’s first paperless university by 2010. Next its president, Dr. William Hartley, signed the American College & University Presidents Climate Control Commitment in February and now is forging a path to green collar industries with its MBA in Sustainable Management.

Additionally, it announced Monday that it has seen a significant surge in student enrollments in its online Sustainable Management programs, which include six-week intensive courses such as, Triple Bottom Line Accountability, Green Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics.

"Our student numbers have nearly doubled over the last three months and our online classes are filling up with students interested in making a difference and becoming responsible for the environmental, social and financial bottom line,” says Darrell Nelson, AU representative. “With governments around the globe also starting to focus on the environment, it is exciting to see our sustainable management programs becoming the courses of choice for students the world over, who can then help to implement positive change at their places of work."

AU’s commitment to going paperless by 2010 stems from the school’s commitment to its Sustainability students.
According to another AU spokesperson, David Bracey, “Many of our processes are already digital, and we are now working with the publishers to convert all of our textbooks into e-books so that our entire curriculum can be downloaded and stored on the Sony Electronic Book Reader or the Amazon Kindle."

Anaheim Sustainability programs focus on the 3 Ps: people, planet and profit. A certificate, diploma or MBA in Sustainable Management (online green MBA) are different curriculum options for those wishing to expand their knowledge and education of environmental and environmentally sound business.

"AU is putting people and planet before profit and we hope that universities around the world will soon join us in becoming not only sustainable but socially responsible institutions,” says Nelson. “To help assist students during these challenging economic times, we have implemented the Tuition Relief Program until June 30. This covers 50 percent of the tuition for any degree-seeking student as well as any Sustainable Management Diploma or Certificate student.

“We have also pledged to do our part in protecting the environment by committing to becoming 100 percent paperless by 2010 and signing the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment last February."
