Anaheim University, based in Anaheim, California and renowned for pioneering online graduate education, has named the David Nunan TESOL Institute in honor of the world's leading textbook author whose textbook sales have exceeded 1,000,000,000 copies worldwide. Dr. David Nunan, who is the Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Anaheim University, is a world-renowned linguist and author of over 100 books and journals. His textbook series entitled "Go For It!"is used in English as a Foreign Language classrooms the world over, and has been adopted as a basal textbook in 29 of the 32 provinces in China.

To commemorate the founding of the Anaheim University David Nunan TESOL Institute, the University hosted a seminar on June 14th, 2008 with Nunan speaking on "Motivating Young Learners" at the University's Akio Morita Learning Center in Tokyo, Japan.
